The latest release brings powerful new features—especially for teams looking to boost productivity with automation and AI. From easing month-end pressure to improving how you track time and manage assets, R2 2025 is all about driving efficiency where it matters most.
Here are the key updates you should know about.
1. Copilot Close Assistant
The new Copilot Close Assistant is here to transform how finance teams approach month-end. It provides a real-time, high-level view of the status of close tasks across your core applications—so you can stay on top of progress, quickly spot any bottlenecks, and keep everyone aligned.
By centralising navigation for subledgers and the general ledger, it gives finance teams a powerful summary to track and manage month-end close with greater efficiency. Available as a trial feature, this tool is designed to bring more predictability and control to your close process.
2. Affiliate inter-entity embedded in consolidations
This update makes it easier to manage inter-entity transactions and consolidations by automating tracking, investment eliminations, and equity eliminations.
General Ledger journal entries can be manually tagged, which enriches inter-entity data, and the system reduces the number of GL accounts needed—simplifying reporting. You can also use a single receivable/payable account to reconcile inter-entity activity across your group.
It supports various consolidation models, including Domestic, Global, and Advanced Ownership, and brings automation and simplicity to processes spanning the General Ledger, Budgeting, Platform Services, and Reporting.
3. Sync payments from Salesforce
With advanced CRM Integration, you can now fully sync your quote-to-cash process between Salesforce and Sage Intacct. This update removes the need for manual entry, reducing errors and saving time by automatically syncing financial data, invoices, and payments for faster, more accurate reporting.
4. Financial reporting guidance
Need to make reports clearer and more impactful? Sage Intacct now provides tailored recommendations when you save reports in Financial Report Writer, helping you improve speed and effectiveness.
Based on what your report is trying to achieve, the system will suggest alternate layouts or methods to better communicate your insights to stakeholders.
5. Fixed Asset Management enhancements
Sage Intacct has introduced two key enhancements to Fixed Asset Management (SFAM). The new Asset Transfer Ease feature simplifies the process of transferring assets across entities by automatically generating the necessary general ledger entries and offering clear visibility into ownership. Additionally, Custom Declining Balance Depreciation Methods provide more tailored depreciation options. These can be configured with or without true-up adjustments, helping businesses stay compliant with local tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
Together, these updates give you more control and transparency in asset tracking and management.
6. Automated Work-in-Progress (WIP) Relief
For services-based businesses managing long-term projects, the new Automated WIP Relief feature automatically moves WIP balances into the correct cost of sales, expense, or asset accounts.
This streamlines revenue recognition and ensures accurate alignment between project costs and completion timelines—making month-end much smoother.
7. Timesheet allocations in Sage Intelligent Time
If your employees split time across projects, Sage Intelligent Time (SIT) now supports timesheet allocations using transaction allocation codes.
This lets users easily divide time between dimensions like projects or departments—saving time and improving accuracy in both reporting and payroll.
8. Contracts Summary Tab
The Contracts Summary Tab brings together billing, purchasing, order entry, and project information into a single, intuitive view.
